Still playing with your script. I like it a lot. I am having trouble getting a blip. Any suggestions as to how to avoid this easily. I tried various sizes of images and tried it. Took the best one. I didn't see a blip before I uploaded.

I notice a slight blip now.

Took me few plays as I kept having to scale down - duh - should have remembered. Still can't iron out the blip? Great script, thankyou so much.

Hello, :)

I worked hard last days to provide the final version of the script.

Objectives :
- add the selection of brush angle, from -180 to 180
- speed up the drawing
- fixe all bugs... yes there were many bugs

Very difficult and ... mission complete now...

Download the file : falling-snow-animV5.zip

Left angle 27° combine with left wind -2 and No rotation brush :

Left angle 60° combine with left wind -2 and left rotation :

What do you think about my next idea... translate this script is a Python Plugin ?
Is it difficult to program in Python after Scheme ?
Should it be faster in Python ?
How can i do that ?

I'm waiting your good advices. :)

I have tried it out and the snow part works perfect.
How can I control the number of objects falling, your helicopter gif has just a few flakes but the ones I have made look like a blizzard.
What is the difference between frames number and layer numbers.
Having to type in the name of the brush is a pain, some of my brush names are pretty long.
Any chance of just making it the active brush.
Just my thoughts.

Hello Tom, :)

Helicopter Gif is an old animation made with Gimp and another personal method, unused now.

Frames number is the number of images in animation, called layers in Gimp.
Layers number : On each image, are drawn number of coats, from smallest flakes (brushes) to biggest.

To change brush name, copy the name in your brush tool and paste it in the script text box.

Good game with Gimp. :)

Hello, :)

I thought the previous version of script was the final... and nooo...
There was a big bad bug hidden in the lines and i had to chase it.

Now, i'm sure, it's the final fantasy Falling snow (or other brush) script Mark VI.

Download the file : falling-snow-animV6.zip

I'm not sure it should be a good idea to make a Python Plugin.
Perhaps just to see what Python Plugin looks like and if it's faster than Scheme.

Have fun :)

Hello, :)

It's seems my script is a never ending story.

Download file : falling-snow-animV7.zip

I add a new option called "Reverse animation", change the brush text box for an official Brush Selector, and modify UI with more settings details.

With all that, i have tried a Lava Lamp effect using a simple Brush 2. Hardness 025 :

Settings for this animation, original picture used is 600 x 840, resized after cool effect :

Have fun. :)

Finally got a Gimp that would work with my computer (more or less) still some problems. I am going to just fight with it everyday so that I can Gimp! (I was having severe withdrawal). I love this Snow Script. Still experimenting!
